We acquired this palm-sized burgundy, umber, mauve and cream 2.375" long Eudialyte Polished Cabochon from Russia, weighing 43 grams, or 1.5 ounces, over a decade ago, and now it's time for this treasure to go to its new home.
This rare mineral is found in large grained low silica igneous rock formations, and exhibits a reddish glow under a fluorescent light.
Iron and manganese are often found in specimens of Eudialyte, and these minerals are responsible for eudialyte's reddish coloration.
The black in eudialyte comes from aegerine inclusions. Aegirine is a rare and powerful mineral used in healing and meditation, first found in Norway, when it was named after the Norse God of the Sea.
