This beautiful natural 2.3 inch long Large Emerald Rod in Matrix from Brazil, weighing 48 grams or 1.7 ounces, is the ideal size to fit in your medicine bag or the palm of your hand. You can see a prominent emerald gemstone rod resting in a matrix which includes whitish colored clear quartz, with greyish metallic looking galena and much darker sparkling hematite.
The emerald is a highly prized and very valuable, very hard gemstone crystal belonging to the beryl family found with green or green-blue coloration.
Beryl is often found in metamorphic rock formations, including schist bearing and quartz bearing formations. The beryl family includes aquamarine, golden beryl, transparent goshenite and the pinkish gemstone morganite.
