However with Mars in hyperkinetic Gemini, that's been a challenge. The Universe wants to go fast this month. So we're in turbo mode, and getting a lot of retrograde interference.

I have been guided to write a much more ambitious New Year's Cosmic Weather Forecast this month than ever before.

First I will explore the stellar configurations at the time of our January 6 Full Moon in Cancer and Capricorn Solar Festival.

Then we will take a deep dive into the outer planet astrology that shaped our collective consciousness and our social experiences from 2008 through of 2022.

Next we offer you a quick peek into key Cosmic Weather patterns that will define 2023 as well as longer term outer planet aspects that will define humanity's inner and outer experiences in the mid-2020s. Enjoy!

Gray winter skies create romantic moonlit nights for us. Our garden sleeps, ingesting the slowly thawing ice that built up during recent storms. We hope that several days of record low hard freezes have reduced the number of insect pests that we will encounter during spring planting season.

This week temperatures are back in the mid-60s accompanied by thundershowers and thick long lasting fog. It feels more like spring than winter, but it's too wet to prepare our garden plot for planting.

The weather roller coaster continues as climate change unfolds around the world.

January Full Moon in Cancer, Capricorn Solar Festival Cosmic Weather Forecast

The Full Moon at 16º 21' Cancer occurs on January 6th, 2023, at 6:08 pm Eastern time, along with the Capricorn Solar Festival.

Unlike the majority of last year's full moons, astrological aspects are beneficent, and we can expect significant, supportive new Cosmic Weather Patterns for the next several weeks to start out our New Year, and for months to come.

Astrological Chart for Full Moon January 6, 2023

This Cancer Full Moon also marks the day we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany, when the mythical three wise men visited the Baby Jesus, over 2000 years ago.

In the 21st Century, most Christians view the Feast of the Epiphany, taking place yearly on January 6, as a mysterious legend, recounted only in the Gospel of Matthew, a perhaps metaphorical tribute to the glory of the Christ child, and a punctuation point marking the end of the Christmas season.

Esoteric Christian Initiates say that the Epiphany is a spiritual festival equal in importance to Christmas itself, a day to celebrate the unbroken tradition of Wisdom School teachings that extends from ancient Middle Eastern sources, through the Egyptian Mystery Schools, extending to the Greek Hermetic tradition and the Gnostic stream of visionary Christianity.

Read all about it in our article entitled Feast of the Epiphany: The Three Kings and the Grand Conjunction in Pisces

We are pleased to offer you a beautiful, simple ritual you can perform this Epiphany to help focus the abundant transformational energies of the day using the Violet Flame and a mantra invoking the secret Kabbalistic name of the Christ, Yeheshuah. All the instructions are in the article above.

This Friday, the Full Moon in Cancer is in a tight sextile with retrograde Uranus in Taurus, providing an energized container in which we can undertake a complete emotional makeover.

We will feel confident and secure in our relationships, so much so that we will entertain exciting innovative improvements.

Emotional hotspots and longstanding issues with family, friends and lovers may suddenly be susceptible to creative reconfiguration that results in a win-win for everyone involved.

In short this is a Full Moon promising positive surprises and unexpected emotional bonuses for us all.

Jupiter in Aries is broadly square the Cancer Moon, and Jupiter's expansive nature opens up our emotional bodies to new influences. This could be a time when we rediscover the joys of a warm hearted, generous, loving approach to life and all it offers us, positive and negative alike.

Astrological Map of the Constellation of Cancer, by Hevelius

The Full Moon in its home sign of Cancer is also trine Neptune in its home sign of Pisces.

This creates a supportive atmosphere for spiritual practices, and a generally creative, positive, expansive play of consciousness. Seek your bliss and you may just find yourself lost in joy and unconditional love.

Late Friday evening, retrograde Mercury enters Capricorn, in a tight opposition to the Cancer Moon. If you remain grounded and centered, this celestial aspect is ideal for self-reflection, meditation, and creative visualization.

These positive aspects remain powerfully present for several days following the Full Moon.

As January unfolds, the Universe provides us with a series of green lights.

The irritations, delays, and sluggishness characteristic of the current period of retrograde planets yields to an energy stream corresponding to expansive consciousness, creative vision, empowerment and forward movement toward our spiritual and material goals.

On January 12 Mars retrograde in Gemini ends, and the planet of willpower and material manifestation moves forward in the sky from the Earthling point of view.

Finally the niggling disputes with loved ones will wind down. The minor irritations that piled up and threatened our emotional equilibrium day after day will dissipate.

The feeling of sluggishness and the lack of will power will vanish.

Prepare to kickstart your delayed New Year's resolutions and move forward with confidence in every area of life.

Mercury goes direct on January 18th, and any feelings of cognitive dissonance and mild brain fog begin to dissipate. At that time, we can put many irksome manifestations of technological breakdown into our rear view mirrors.

On January 22nd, retrograde Uranus joins Mercury and Mars in forward movement. The combination of all three planets going direct in a short span of time indicates that we can begin to find positive resolutions to many situations where we have been stuck in life.

On that day all planets will be in direct motion until April 21st, when Mercury goes retrograde again.

As we will see when we explore the astrology of 2023 in detail, the spring season brings us a long period of calm outer planet Cosmic Weather patterns, the likes of which we haven't seen for many years.

Make the most of this time of beneficent energies and above all enjoy all that life brings your way!

2022 Recap and 2023 Roadmap to the Future

Looking back on 2022 and ahead to 2023, it's obvious that runaway inflation, the Ukraine war, climate change, and rivalry with China will remain major issues in the new year.

We'll take a quick look at these issues and then we'll explore the ways that cosmic weather patterns in 2023 are likely to synchronize with their unfolding.

We'll also see the ways that the Universe is providing us with a new heightened level of consciousness, along with access to new, previously unexplored paths leading to new landscapes of the mind, and to greater material achievements than we can currently imagine.

We've all had our fill of bad news, so before we begin our deep dive, I want to make it clear that I do not see 2023 as a year of wine and roses, but I am certain that there will be remarkable and positive changes in the outer planets, starting in March, that will provide golden opportunities for all of us to discover new pathways in life.

Those new pathways will take us on a breathtaking ascent that will challenge our endurance and provide us with spectacular views of seductive new vistas and new possibilities.

The Universe will ask us to abandon our habits and routines in favor of adventurous explorations that will help us manifest our loftiest spiritual and material goals, even if we have been disappointed in our quest for the highest and best in our past.

On the level of the collective consciousness, these positive outer planet changes will encourage our global civilization to begin to work toward positive resolutions to the intractable problems that have bedeviled us for the last fifteen years.

Global Climate Change 2022 and Predictions of Scale of Changes to Come

We have been confronted with so many global environmental challenges and catastrophes in 2022 that it's hard to keep track of them all.

Winter 2022 US Drought Outlook, courtesy NOAA

Prolonged severe droughts blistered the Western United States, China, Europe, Brazil, and the Horn of Africa, affecting more than 1 billion people.

Floods in Pakistan submerged the homes of 7 million people. Tropical storms in Philippines and Bangladesh impacted 2 million people. Flooding in West Africa created another 1.3 million climate refugees.

Closer to home, Hurricane Ian caused over $100 billion in damages in Cuba and the US, displacing 40,000 people from their homes and leaving 130 dead.

The world's ecosystems have been thoroughly destabilized by fossil fuel emissions, and in 2022 we discovered that the problem is much worse than the mainstream media and governments around the globe have led us to believe.

The UN Environment Program announced that there is no longer a credible path to achievement of the Paris Accords' Environment Goal of 1.5°C warming, which was thought to be the maximum allowable warming to avert global climate catastrophe.

World carbon dioxide emissions 1990-2030

In fact, despite all the international conferences and trillions of dollars invested in sustainable energy projects around the world for the past 50 years, carbon emissions in 2022 increased, as you can see in the chart above. That trend is set to continue as long as projected global economic growth continues to rise.

"Keeping warming to 2°C means in general terms having to halve emissions each decade from 2020 to 2050. But emissions and greenhouse gas levels are still rising, and the 2°C target will be missed by a significant margin," according to a Climate Code Red November 2022 report. "The 2°C [warming] is likely before 2050 even with higher-ambition emission reductions."

"When all system feedbacks are assessed, current emission-reduction commitments will lead to around 3°C of warming, which US security analysts conclude may result in a world of outright chaos," the Climate Code Red report continues. "And six in ten climate scientists surveyed by Nature journal say that they expect the world to warm by at least 3°C by the end of the century."

At 3 degrees of warming, hundreds of millions of people will be displaced from coastal cities around the world as sea levels rise.

Marine heat waves will decimate populations of sea creatures.

Super hurricanes stronger than any in human history will breed in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

Himalayan glaciers will melt, leaving billions of people in Asia without a source of water. Crops will fail in the world's breadbaskets.

The Amazon rainforest will become grassland at best, a Sahara like desert at worst.

Three degrees of warming is now probably a best case scenario. If temperatures rise 4º C above normal, which is now seen as a distinct possibility, much of the world will be too hot to support human life.

“Both of the high-emission pathways considered in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s most recent Working Group I report contain 4°C increases in the very likely range for 2081 through 2100, a level of heating that many scientists regard as a significant threat to civilization," according to a recent paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

 That’s unmitigated bad news.

In May 2019, Johan Rockström, director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, told The Guardian that in a 4°C-warmer world: “It’s difficult to see how we could accommodate a billion people or even half of that… There will be a rich minority of people who survive with modern lifestyles, no doubt, but it will be a turbulent, conflict-ridden world.”

If all this sounds a little bit familiar to you, it's because for many years this blog has featured cutting edge scientific research that predicted the possibility of 4º C global warming or more by the end of this century.

Meanwhile, the mainstream media and government sources around the world have been promoting the illusion that business as usual will keep global warming within levels that will forestall disaster.

Oligarchs, heads of state, and CEOs of global corporations have always known better. They also know that curtailing the lifestyles of the richest 10% of the world's population is the only way to prevent billions of people from dying. And they have chosen to sacrifice 9/10 of the world's people so the most privileged among us can continue to enjoy their lavish lifestyles for another few decades.

Nero in the Colosseum

"Let’s . . . look at the facts: 10% of the world’s population are responsible for about half of all greenhouse gas emissions, while the bottom half of the world contributes just 12% of all emissions," The Guardian newspaper reports.

"Consider the US, for instance. Every year, the poorest 50% of the US population emit about 10 tonnes of CO2 per person, while the richest 10% emit 75 tonnes per person. The rich emit more carbon through the goods and services they buy, as well as from the investments they make."

It's time to put our unending economic growth machine, fueled by cheap hydrocarbons, into reverse.

It's time for the super-rich and the upper middle classes to change their Marie Antoinette lifestyles and live more like typical middle class people the world over. There's just no way around it.

Our winner-take-all war-of-all-against-all neoliberal Utopian capitalist system is destroying the planet's ecosystem.

Business as usual will result in a catastrophe unprecedented in human history.
It's time to respond to this planetary emergency by refusing to support the current system, just as citizens in the Soviet Union and its satellite states refused to support their oppressive system when the Berlin Wall fell in 1989.

Voting will change nothing as both parties in our country support business as usual.

Only massive public civil disobedience can begin to create a political space for genuine change.

Or, alternatively, just tune in to your intuitive guidance, turn on your Higher Mind and drop out of the self-defeating rat race that is destroying the planet.

Just say no to cruise ships, international vacation flights, oversize trucks and SUVs, MacMansions and other unnecessary wealth displays that are destroying ecosystems the world over.

The time has come to reject the glamour of the Pluto-crats, whose antics dominate social media and the news media, and for us all to end our adulation of the Kardashians and all those who live like them.

Inflation, Ukraine War, Global Trade War, Economic Inequality, and Financial Market Futures

The cosmic weather patterns of the Pluto in Capricorn era, spanning the years from 2008 to the present, have accelerated the ascendancy of the Pluto-cratic hyper-capitalist global economic system that is ravaging the planet.

In the 2010s a series of squares between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn punctuated a long period of grinding financial dislocations, triggered by the collapse of the US housing price bubble in 2008.

Economic instability engulfed the world as a series of housing, financial and political crises erupted in the US, the Eurozone, emerging market countries, and China.

Central banks and governments responded to these challenges by spending trillions of dollars to bail out large financial institutions, some of which were guilty of fraud which contributed mightily to the onset of the Global Financial Crisis, version 1.0.

Governments around the world flooded financial markets with trillions of dollars more of cheap money year after year, which was used to bid up the prices of financial assets of all kinds.

The result was a kind of everything bubble, as wealthy investors and financial institutions enjoyed vast profits from the appreciation of stocks, bonds, and eventually real estate, over the course of the 2010s.

That's why the early 21st Century has so far seen skyrocketing economic inequality, a proliferation of self-congratulatory libertarian billionaires, and the evisceration of the middle classes in the West.

When Uranus entered Taurus in 2019, we entered a period of unexpected sudden Uranian transformations in Taurean ruled financial markets and in the global economy. Uranus will be in Taurus through 2026, so we are far from done with this disruptive Cosmic Weather pattern.

Electrifying Uranian shocks to the globalized economy began in 2020, when Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto conjoined in Capricorn, right before the onset of the global Covid Pandemic.

Saturn entered Aquarius in March 2020, and we entered a three year period of squares between Saturn and Uranus in Taurus.

Lockdowns disrupted global supply chains, economic growth plummeted, and financial markets collapsed around the world.

Governments responded to this sudden unprecedented shock by applying many trillions of dollars in monetary and fiscal stimulus, which further inflated the already existing financial bubbles in stocks, bonds and global real estate to epic proportions.

The Uranus in Taurus everything bubble appeared set to expand endlessly and exponentially.

Aquarian technologies such as cryptocurrency and NFTs skyrocketed in value.

The ongoing Pandemic further enriched the world's Pluto-crats while millions of people died.

In 2021, as the explosive, transformative squares between Uranus in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius unfolded further, the global economy finally overheated in response to fifteen years of unprecedented financial stimulus.

Led by the Federal Reserve, central banks and governments around the world began a swift series of steep interest rate hikes.

In 2022, while a strong, highly restrictive Saturn in Aquarius squared electrifying Uranus in Taurus, the Zodiacal sign of finance, food and hydrocarbons found deep in the Earth, Russia invaded Ukraine.

Western financial sanctions on Russia triggered oil and gas shortages and triggered unprecedented price hikes around the world. The loss of Ukraine's agricultural production resulted in soaring global food prices.

The Fed and other central banks continued to raise interest rates to levels not seen in many decades.

The result was predictable. Speculative bubble investments imploded.

Stock prices collapsed. The value of NFTs and cryptocurrencies were decimated.

Falling asset values in the most speculative investments revealed accounting control frauds and Ponzi schemes that had been papered over by the torrent of money central banks had funneled into investors' pockets.

The US bond market suffered its worst ever annual loss in 2022.

Global stocks lost $18 trillion in 2022 and face severe challenges in the year ahead. It's the seventh worst year for the index on records stretching back to 1929. "That means 2022 ranks with the ugliest years of the Great Depression, the 2008 financial crisis and the dot com bust in the annals of market massacres," Axios reports.

In 2022, investors in Cryptocurrencies lost $2 trillion, and after enormous losses, NFT trading volume fell 97%.

One Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT holder recently sold their rights in the digital artwork for a staggering $3 million loss.

Even more worrisome to those of us without cryptocurrency holdings, large holdings of junk bonds, or vast investments in high tech startups, the US housing market seems to be in the early stages of another 2008 style meltdown.

We've already seen a 15 percent drop in housing prices in 2022 and the National Association of Realtors forecasts a further 7 percent decline in 2023. Economists generally agree that with sky high interest rates poised to spike, we are entering a housing recession of unknown size and duration.

In short, in 2022 the everything bubble has burst.

The outlook for 2023 depends upon how you answer one major question. Does the Fed care about your pain?

Wall Street traders and their minions in our news media outlets predict that the Fed will pivot and lower rates to prevent a major recession, and pave the way to a reflation of the everything bubble that burst last year, but there is no objective evidence to support this view.

Former New York Federal Reserve President William Dudley told Bloomberg News on January 3 that a recession is likely in 2023 and that the Fed is engineering that oncoming recession now.

“It’s going to be a Fed-induced recession and the Fed can end the recession by subsequently easing monetary policy,” Dudley explained to Bloomberg.

“If we have something more severe than a short and shallow recession but not as severe as the global financial crisis… you have another 25% downside potentially in the markets,” Dr. Nouriel Roubini, aka Dr. Doom told Bloomberg at the beginning of December.

Roubini explained that the federal government's massive $5 trillion Covid bailout has allowed "zombie" companies to keep operating, and if interest rates rise further those companies will go bankrupt.

"I think that really the world is on a slow-motion train wreck. There are major new threats that did not exist before, and they're building up and we're doing very little about it," Roubini told the Financial Times newspaper.

Roubini cautioned inflation is not yet under control. As we mentioned in recent newsletters, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Board are united in their commitment to raising rates faster, higher, and for longer than anyone expects.

They truly believe that the only way to break the back of runaway inflation is to engineer a recession that will throw millions into unemployment, crush consumer demand and then, finally, lower inflation,

If history is any guide, the Fed has tightened for up to a decade to counter out of control inflation in the past, so we may see rates as high as 2022 or higher for an extended period of time.

"We must learn to live on high alert," Roubini told the London journal, adding "We will need luck, global co-operation and almost unprecedented economic growth" for a positive outcome.

Of course unprecedented economic growth would be the final nail in the Earth's ecosystem's coffin.

2023 Cosmic Weather Forecast

As we celebrate the New Year of 2023, the dark, dreary, difficult, tumultuous Cosmic Weather patterns we have endured for years dissipate, and a new configuration of stellar influences stimulates the collective consciousness.

We can feel a new supportive and nurturing energy stream incoming.

The stars align in much more tranquil patterns, for the most part, and we can feel the acceleration as we begin to move forward on the path of Spirit.

Collectively and individually, in 2023 we will find the Cosmos supportive of all efforts to remediate the disastrous effects of human greed and belligerence in every area of life.

The first three months of 2023, we are still dealing with the square between Uranus in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius which has coincided with the present Global Financial Crisis 2.0.

Many astrologers thought that Uranus in Taurus would be the time when new forms of money such as cryptocurrency would replace government issued currencies, and a new, decentralized banking system would replace the current global financial architecture.

Instead, Uranus square Saturn has delivered totally destabilizing shocks to the cryptocurrency ecosystem, and the entire global financial system is in crisis, on the verge of being reorganized, not by cryptocurrency kings but by the new economic competition between Asian and Western power blocks.

In March, the Uranus-Saturn square dissolves as Saturn leaves Aquarius, and enters Pisces. That will deliver us from five years of these Uranus-Saturn squares.

Many astrologers have predicted that this will mean an easing of the current Global Financial Crisis 2.0, but since the Fed is determined to engineer a recession and break the back of inflation with persistent high interest rates for at least another year or more, I believe that the financial crisis will enter a new, perhaps more dramatic and comprehensive phase.

Personally, I feel that this year, Uranus in Taurus could manifest more forcefully, free of the restrictive Saturnine influence.

Uranus in Taurus may well manifest this year as an undiluted, explosive set of transformations within the global financial system and the global economy.

We could see an unexpected Uranian series of jolts, restructuring our expectations about economic growth, secure employment, the stability of financial markets, and the ability of the Western powers to dictate terms of trade throughout the world. And of course, we know we can expect global stagflation.

On a positive note, as the Saturn-Uranus square dissipates, this year Uranus moves between 15° – 23° of Taurus, and there are no major, disruptive outer planet aspects to contend with all year long.

However, at the end of June Uranus in Taurus will square Mars in Leo, a very combustible alignment that could indicate a sudden, sharp, dramatic, unexpected financial conflagration.

Then in mid-November Uranus in Taurus will square Mars in Scorpio, another extremely powerful, incendiary aspect that could indicate a second financial and economic shock to the global financial architecture.

Taurus also represents the wealth that is the Earth's ecosystem itself, and we know that we have yet to see the most dramatic weather extremes the Anthropocene Age has to offer, so after March 2023, when Uranus in Taurus no longer is squared by Saturn in Aquarius, the Earth's climate change could reach a new crescendo of extreme weather events. Summer is the danger season again this year.

By year's end we may all be re-evaluating the meaning of true wealth.

Is wealth composed of numbers on a screen and conspicuous consumption or is wealth time well spent, loved ones well cared for, healthy days and nights, and a healthy ecosystem in which to live our lives? True wealth is clean air, clean water, unpolluted Earth in which to grow food and walk barefoot. True wealth is shared resources for the common good and time to enjoy life.

The last time Uranus in Taurus traveled between 14° and 23° occurred during 1938/39, 1854-1856, and 1763-1765.

The period of 1938 and 1939 brought us another chapter in the decade long Great Depression, marked by a deep, disastrous recession in America, and Hitler's invasion of the Sudetenland, which in retrospect was the first salvo in World War II.

The Crimean War (1854-56) was fought by an alliance of Britain, France, Turkey and Sardinia against Russia. Three quarters of a million soldiers were killed. The Crimean War was notable because it was the first instance of "modern" weaponry used in large scale combat.

Map of Black Sea/Crimean War, public domain

This resonates with the current Ukraine War, which has seen extensive use of combat drones, deployment of hypersonic missiles, weaponization of the global financial system by both sides, and dueling sanctions that threaten to Balkanize the global energy and food production pipelines, creating suffering around the world.

These innovations could map out the emerging face of 21st Century warfare.

Although the Ukraine War appears to be a long, bloody stalemate at the moment, believe it or not, many influential foreign policy experts in Washington are demanding that the West invade the Crimea.

"According to NBC News, in December, a Biden administration official told Congress that Kyiv would be able to liberate the peninsula," proclaims Andriy Zagorodnyuk in a January 2nd article in Foreign Affairs magazine, the house organ of the influential Council on Foreign Relations. "Ben Hodges, the former commanding general of the U.S. Army Europe, said that Ukraine has a chance to free Crimea by the end of this coming summer."

Zagorodnyuk says Ukraine can and should "liberate" the Crimea by force of arms.

"Russia’s military footprint, for example, is actually a reason to fight for Crimea, since a battle over the territory would seriously degrade Russia’s ability to wage war and terrorize Ukraine and other states," Zagorodnyuk explains. "The other concerns about Ukraine’s ability to retake the peninsula and nuclear attacks are all at least somewhat overblown. After consecutive months of battlefield success, it is clear that Ukraine has the capacity to liberate Crimea."

That's no small matter. Crimean War 2.0 could become World War III, with both sides using nuclear weapons.

Map of 2021 Estimated Global Nuclear Warhead Inventories

Russia's President Putin has proclaimed Crimea part of Russia, and he has made it clear that attacks on Russia could be met with nuclear reprisals.

Uranus was in the same area in Taurus during the Seven Years' War of 1756–1763. This was also a global conflict that involved most of the European Great Powers, and was fought primarily in Europe, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific.

England won the war but went deep into debt, and England's demand that American bear a large part of the debt burden by paying new, onerous taxes, played a large part in the alienation of American elites from the British crown. Ultimately of course there would be a revolution.

The astrological flashpoints in June and November involving Mars and Uranus squares could also indicate potentially devastating escalations of the current Ukraine War, being fought in the same terrain as the Crimean War, and with global consequences.

As we have seen numerous World Wars have been triggered during similar Uranus in Taurus cycles.

So late June and mid-November are the two extremely hazardous times we will encounter in 2023, collectively and individually.

Starting March 23, slow-moving Pluto will finally leave Capricorn and enter Aquarius, heralding the beginning of the end of the long grinding series of overlapping crises we have endured since Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008, at the onset of Global Financial Crisis, version 1.0.

Pluto will remain in Aquarius through June 11, and after retrograding back in to Capricorn, will continue to waffle between the two winter signs until November 19, 2024, when Pluto will finally emerge in Aquarius for a long stay until March 8, 2043.

The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was from 1778 until 1798. During that time, Western colonization, revolution and reform engineered historic global transformations.

Britain colonized Australia, the Industrial Revolution introduced large scale machine manufacturing to England, the American Revolution created the United States, the French Revolution ended the rule of the aristocracy, and progress was made toward the gradual abolition of the international slave trade, which was made illegal in America in 1800, and in Great Britain in 1807.

The conflicted, paranoid and spooky US Pluto Return, which has taken place with Pluto in Capricorn since February 2022, will begin to dissipate as Pluto enters Aquarius, and over the next couple of years, it is quite likely that the United States will see the manifestation of the radical political changes that have appeared on the horizon for years.

Overall, 2023 will offer us relief from the omnipresent, ongoing friction characterizing the Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus-Saturn square years we have just traversed.

Aside from the flashpoints in June and November, we can all relax in the awareness that this year's energies support a warm hearted, spiritual approach to life, and if we can maintain our equilibrium, we will find that we can maintain our positive attitudes and forward momentum despite any and all global difficulties.

Long Range Cosmic Weather Forecast

During the mid 2020s, massive, highly accelerated environmental, political and economic transformations will sweep the globe, and a totally different geo-political landscape will begin to emerge, for better or worse.

Tsunami, by Hokusai
Tsunami, by Hokusai, 19th Century

The astrology of 2024-2026 indicates a tsunami of civilizational change.

Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, the planets governing the trans-personal collective consciousness, all change signs.

All three of these planets travel very slowly around the Sun, so they don't normally all change signs at more or less the same time. The transitions of 2024-2026 will signal an extremely rare, truly epochal shift in cosmic weather patterns.

Values, morals, political alliances, and collective belief systems will undergo a lengthy, thorough overhaul.

By the end of this relatively short period of time, the politics, economic system, and lifestyles of the early 21st Century will appear nearly as distant and incomprehensible as life in the Miocene Era, when humans first appeared, some 6 million years ago.

Already we can see the beginnings of the collapse of the political and economic systems of neoliberal globalization, which was created by the Anglo-Saxon powers in the 1980s, under the leadership of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.

The last fifteen years with Pluto in Capricorn have ushered in a period of unprecedented global climate change, increased geo-political tensions, rising economic inequality, rising dissatisfaction with the status quo, a persistent global pandemic, and startling technological advances in artificial intelligence, digital finance, robotics, electric vehicles, and renewable energy systems.

We've seen civilization-altering change year after year.

But the period from 2024-2026 promises to deliver a tsunami of innovation and transformation that will make the first part of the 21st century seem placid in comparison.

Meditation Moment: A List of Praises, by Anne Porter

Give praise with psalms that tell the trees to sing,
Give praise with Gospel choirs in storefront churches,
Mad with the joy of the Sabbath,
Give praise with the babble of infants, who wake with the sun,
Give praise with children chanting their skip-rope rhymes,
A poetry not in books, a vagrant mischievous poetry
living wild on the Streets through generations of children.

Give praise with the sound of the milk-train far away
With its mutter of wheels and long-drawn-out sweet whistle
As it speeds through the fields of sleep at three in the morning,
Give praise with the immense and peaceful sigh
Of the wind in the pinewoods,
At night give praise with starry silences.

Give praise with the skirling of seagulls
And the rattle and flap of sails
And gongs of buoys rocked by the sea-swell
Out in the shipping-lanes beyond the harbor.
Give praise with the humpback whales,
Huge in the ocean they sing to one another.

Give praise with the rasp and sizzle of crickets, katydids and cicadas,
Give praise with hum of bees,
Give praise with the little peepers who live near water.
When they fill the marsh with a shimmer of bell-like cries
We know that the winter is over.

Give praise with mockingbirds, day's nightingales.
Hour by hour they sing in the crepe myrtle
And glossy tulip trees
On quiet side streets in southern towns.

Give praise with the rippling speech
Of the eider-duck and her ducklings
As they paddle their way downstream
In the red-gold morning
On Restiguche, their cold river,
Salmon river,
Wilderness river.

Give praise with the whitethroat sparrow.
Far, far from the cities,
Far even from the towns,
With piercing innocence
He sings in the spruce-tree tops,
Always four notes
And four notes only.

Give praise with water,
With storms of rain and thunder
And the small rains that sparkle as they dry,
And the faint floating ocean roar
That fills the seaside villages,
And the clear brooks that travel down the mountains

And with this poem, a leaf on the vast flood,
And with the angels in that other country.
