When Jupiter entered the imaginative, watery sign of Pisces, Jane and I expected to feel a surge of relief and a renewal of our creative energies, and although Jane has been producing some new artwork in her studio, we find ourselves low on energy and highly motivated to pursue maximum R&R.

The last few years have generated constant stress created by a once in a century global pandemic, escalating culture wars in America and Europe, a winner-take-all global social and economic system, and increasingly extreme weather events creating a series of unprecedented droughts, storms, heat waves, and wildfires around the world.

The Uranus-Saturn square dominating this year's Cosmic weather patterns creates the potential for financial meltdown, environmental disasters, military confrontations, social polarization, and dramatic stressors impacting our political and economic institutions. 

This month, this energy signature is visible in numerous ongoing crises around the world.

The asymmetrical David and Goliath conflict between Palestinians and Israelis has triggered unprecedented criticism of the scope and scale of Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank.

Israeli tanks, bombs and military invasions of Palestinian populations with nothing left to lose after enduring decades of repression and hopelessness cannot deliver the "total victory" Prime Minister Netanyahu seeks. The situation is analogous to the decades of conflict in Northern Ireland, where Britain used excessive military force to try to solve intractable political problems and only succeeded in creating an interminable, unwinnable civil war.

After eleven days, a ceasefire has created a temporary cessation of fighting. Both sides have declared victory. The Israeli bombing campaign killed more than 230 people, and wounded over 1900. Palestinian rocket attacks killed 12 in Israel.

The bipartisan consensus in America for supporting Israel unconditionally has eroded significantly and that is the major outcome of this round of fighting. For the first time in decades, Israeli policies, which border on apartheid, are no longer acceptable to the left wing of the Democratic Party. Senator Bernie Sanders proposed a halt to US military support for Israel during the 11 day "war". It is now clear that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is set to become a flashpoint triggering new political struggles in America in the years to come.

As the Middle East smolders, the credibility of the global scientific community is being called into question. Eighteen top biologists have rejected the World Health Organization's conclusion that Covid-19 originated in wild animals and was transmitted directly to humans in a wet market in Wuhan, China. These highly respected biologists are calling for a serious investigation into the possibility of a laboratory accident in The Wuhan Institute of Virology where Chinese scientists were conducting American funded experiments in engineering highly infectious strains of Coronavirus.

When the Coronavirus Pandemic erupted, two competing origin stories immediately surfaced.

The natural emergence theory emphasized the risks found in the Wuhan wet markets selling wild meats. Experts found a parallel in the 2002 SARS outbreak in which a bat virus spread to civets, which are sold in wet markets, and from civets to humans.
Wuhan is also home to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which specializes in Coronavirus research, and some experts worried about the possibility of an accidental release of the virus from the research facility.

"The Wuhan Institute of Virology had a new BSL4 lab, but its state of readiness considerably alarmed the State Department inspectors who visited it from the Beijing embassy in 2018," according to an article by Nicholas Wade in The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. "'The new lab has a serious shortage of appropriately trained technicians and investigators needed to safely operate this high-containment laboratory,' the inspectors wrote in a cable of January 19, 2018."

Early in 2020 President Donald Trump immediately blamed the Chinese for the outbreak, and his political opponents immediately subscribed to the natural emergence theory because if Trump blamed the Chinese, the Chinese could not be guilty.

“'We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin,' a group of virologists and others wrote in the Lancet on February 19, 2020, when it was really far too soon for anyone to be sure what had happened," according to Nicholas Wade in The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.  "Scientists 'overwhelmingly conclude that this coronavirus originated in wildlife,' they said, with a stirring rallying call for readers to stand with Chinese colleagues on the frontline of fighting the disease."

"Contrary to the letter writers’ assertion, the idea that the virus might have escaped from a lab invoked accident, not conspiracy," Wade continues. "It surely needed to be explored, not rejected out of hand. A defining mark of good scientists is that they go to great pains to distinguish between what they know and what they don’t know. By this criterion, the signatories of the Lancet letter were behaving as poor scientists: They were assuring the public of facts they could not know for sure were true."

"It later turned out that the Lancet letter had been organized and drafted by Peter Daszak, president of the EcoHealth Alliance of New York. Daszak’s organization funded coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. If the SARS2 virus had indeed escaped from research he funded, Daszak would be potentially culpable. This acute conflict of interest was not declared to the Lancet’s readers. To the contrary, the letter concluded, 'We declare no competing interests.'"

"People round the world who have been pretty much confined to their homes for the last year might like a better answer [about the virus' origins] than their media are giving them," Wade contends. "Perhaps one will emerge in time. After all, the more months pass without the natural emergence theory gaining a shred of supporting evidence, the less plausible it may seem. Perhaps the international community of virologists will come to be seen as a false and self-interested guide. The common sense perception that a pandemic breaking out in Wuhan might have something to do with a Wuhan lab cooking up novel viruses of maximal danger in unsafe conditions could eventually displace the ideological insistence that whatever Trump said can’t be true. And then let the reckoning begin."

At this point it is clear that the credibility of the scientific community depends upon a thorough and unbiased investigation of the two theories about the origins of the Coronavirus Pandemic. We can only hope that the scientific community can transcend the current politicization of these theories and of any such investigation.

As the Middle East once again teeters on the brink of the abyss, and the global scientific community forms a circular firing squad in response to questions about the origins of the Coronavirus Pandemic, global financial markets appear bubblicious, over-extended, and vulnerable to both a huge correction in the most volatile speculative assets and a nasty inflation trap in the next year or three.
For the last year, every American with a pulse and a smartphone has been bombarded with sell-side hype about the inevitable, unstoppable rise of Bitcoin and other digital currencies, Tesla and other high tech stocks and ETFs, new IPO unicorns with no profits that are sure to be worth billions of dollars next year, and Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) that siphon up investor cash to invest in -- well, whatever looks to be the most hyped assets available on Wall Street, including high tech companies too risky to obtain an Initial Public Offering. 

SPACs are the descendants of the companies that inflated the infamous British South Sea Bubble. In 1720 the British government granted the South Sea Company a monopoly on trade with South America in return for financing the government's debt.

This triggered the creation of a wave of new corporations engaged in highly speculative activity connected to the South Sea trade. One company was formed to buy Irish bogs, another to find the fabled breadfruit tree that would feed the world, another to manufacture square cannon balls. The most outrageous of all was a company formed “For carrying on an undertaking of great advantage but no-one to know what it is!!”
Needless to say the South Sea Bubble burst not long thereafter, causing catastrophic losses and massive pain among all social classes in Britain.

In exactly the same way SPACs siphon up investor cash without any idea what they will invest that money in. They place their bets in the financial casinos based upon the prevailing trends in social media and the top news stories on any given day. Of course, this time, the financial press says it's different. It's not at all like the bubble inflated by those crazy Eighteenth Century Brits.
During the last stressful year and a half of the Covid Pandemic, Jupiter resided in Capricorn and Aquarius, signs ruled by Saturn, a.k.a. the Cosmic karmic taskmaster.
 

Now Jupiter has entered one of its favorite signs, watery Pisces, ruled by dreamy Neptune, the planet of mysticism, escapism and unconditional love.  Jupiter will be in Pisces until July 28, when it re-enters Aquarius for five months. What a relief! Supported by the relaxation of pandemic restrictions, Jupiter in Pisces provides a supportive Cosmic climate for creative projects, meditation, rest and recuperation, and possibly even self-medication. Optimal outcomes can be obtained by being willing to let go and go with the flow.

People all over the world are rushing to beauty spots in the mountains and on the beaches in search of relaxation and a much needed respite from the constant state of emergency we've all been in for years. No masks needed!

Jupiter in Pisces promotes a feeling of unity with nature. This is an ideal aspect for meditation in your favorite nature get away. But there's no need to sit cross legged and close your eyes. Just allow yourself to relax. Empty the mind. Make it your intent to receive an influx of Universal Life Force Energy from your surroundings.

Place your loving attention on the plants, animals, birds, fish and insects found on your path. If you are a Reiki person, turn on your Reiki and send energy to the life forms surrounding you. If you have a crystal in your pocket or a crystal pendant on your person, set that crystal to transmit energy to the web of life enfolding you. Give thanks! Soon you will begin to feel the difference as your energetic interchange with nature begins to recharge your physical, emotional and mental bodies. This is walking meditation.

 

This month with Jupiter in Pisces and Sun in sensuous, earthy Taurus, we have alternated gardening with hikes in the woods and in the many gardens in Old Salem across the street from us. The more time we spend outdoors, the more relaxed we get! You might want to give it a try.

On Wednesday, May 26, at 7:14 am Eastern time, we celebrate the Sagittarius Super Full Blood Moon Eclipse and the Gemini Solar Festival of Goodwill. The Moon will be at its closest approach to Earth at the moment of the Full Moon eclipse. As the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, the Earth's atmosphere scatters blue light waves, and the remaining light from the Sun strikes the Moon's surface, imparting a red glow that can be seen in our night sky.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, and Jupiter in Pisces tunes our inner spiritual antennae to the trans-personal realms of consciousness. Sagittarius is the fiery planet of aspiration and directed, focused action in pursuit of our highest ideals. 

This can be our caterpillar to butterfly Moon of Transfiguration if we concentrate on our spiritual practices and join with awakened humanity to celebrate the global spring Festival of Goodwill! 

However, Jupiter in Pisces squares the Moon and Sun creating a potentially challenging mutable T-square. The mutable T-square triggers powerful energetic cross-currents in our lives. We may feel at times as though we are on a merry-go-round or tilt-a-whirl that accelerates without warning and then suddenly decelerates, or reverses direction without warning, leaving us feeling fatigued and spent.

And speaking of head twisting reversals, Saturn in Aquarius turns retrograde on May 23, prior to the Full Blood Moon Eclipse, and remains retrograde for five months. Saturn retrogrades typically amplify the restrictions, limitations, and difficult karmic lessons associated with Saturn's current placement.

In this case, we can expect social restrictions and conflicts related to the Global Pandemic to resurface in unexpected ways. Today we are seeing new outbreaks in Taiwan,  and Singapore, which were thought to have successfully suppressed the Coronavirus, and deaths and new cases in India have reached new global highs, creating an unprecedented national emergency. 

Saturn's about face is followed by Mercury going retrograde on May 29, conjunct Venus in late Gemini. We may be subjected to a barrage of unexpected and challenging Venusian feelings related to developments among members of our social network. Those undigestible feelings may need to be processed mentally for a few weeks before the events in our lives make sense, but after all, that's what Mercury Retrograde in Gemini is for. So be gentle on yourself and others this next month and take time to meditate upon nettlesome or upsetting social situations before taking action.

In addition to these astrological hurdles Mars in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn during the last week of May and in early June. Now is the time to fearlessly face down abusers and users who are attempting to exploit us and those around us, no matter how powerful they appear. 

Power struggles, conflicting desires, and secretive strategies for self-advancement can set us up for major confrontations with powerful Plutonian people and institutions during this time frame.

Be cautious in committing to any new and revolutionary activities. On the other hand, beware of succumbing to feelings of helplessness or self-victimization. Sometimes radical change and fearless confrontation with powerful forces are necessary for us to claim our freedom and live our lives to the fullest without undue interference.

Saturn in Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus exactly on June 14, creating the second passage of the year for this difficult aspect, which dominates the entire year of 2021. This is the second act of the celestial drama that began in February. The Sun will be in Cancer, making a sextile aspect to Uranus in Taurus, so rebellious, electrifying Uranian energies will predominate.

This means that if you are determined to express Uranian energies and break free of Saturnine restrictions in your life, June may be the turning point in your struggle.

Uranian flashes of insight and creativity could open the door to unexpected but welcome transformations in social, political and economic systems that no longer serve us and prevent our community from establishing right human relations.

Conflicts between the established order and rebellious political factions could erupt and evolve in a surprising series of developments that reveal the fragility of the status quo and enhance attractive new political alternatives.

The full moon in Sagittarius is known as the Festival of Humanity, or the Festival of Goodwill, because that is the day that the incarnate and discarnate Guides and Teachers of all the Mystery Schools of the East and West join together to light the flame of inner wisdom in the minds of all humanity. That flame is known as Buddha Mind to the Initiates of the East and Higher Mind to Initiates of the Western Mystery Schools. The full moon in June is the day the Spiritual Hierarchy light the flame of unconditional love in the heart of humanity. 

During the Festival of Humanity, the love of Christ and the wisdom of the Buddha are showered down upon the Earth. At this time, spiritual disciples of all paths and lineages and religions around the world receive inspiration and instructions concerning their roles and duties for the upcoming year.

The Hierarchy of Spiritual Guides and Teachers overseeing humanity’s spiritual evolution join with the Cosmic Christ and provide a roadmap of the coming seasonal cycle to all disciples, planting the seeds for all the spiritual activities that disciples are being urged to undertake during the next year.

Most importantly, the Hierarchy and the Cosmic Christ engulf the entire planet with a powerful high-frequency energetic charge known as The Will to Good, which is distributed through power spots around the world to all willing recipients. The Christ Consciousness Grid, actually a set of seven grids in rainbow colors that surrounds the Earth, is in the form of a pentagonal dodecahedron with icosahedral caps.

The dodecahedron is one of The Five Platonic Solids. There are only five three dimensional polyhedrons whose faces are identical regular polygons. They are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron and dodecahedron. 

Plato associated the cube with the element of Earth, the tetrahedron with the element of fire, the octahedron with the element of air, and the icosahedron with the element of water. 

"There still remained a fifth construction, which the god used for embroidering the constellations on the whole heaven," wrote Plato. That Fifth Element, Spirit, or Universal Life Force energy, is represented by the dodecahedron.

21st Century students of sacred geometry associate the dodecahedron with the energy of the stars, and with the energy of the Zero Point Field, which fills the so-called vacuum of space, within which the stars are embedded.

Astrophysicists, following up the work of 20th Century quantum physicists researching the roots of inertia, found that the void of deep space is in fact a limitless self-sustaining source of Zero Point Energy. Zero Point Energy appeared to some astrophysicists to be the most ubiquitous energy in the Universe.

Place a flower on your altar or near your place of meditation. Place a bowl of water on your altar or near your seat. If you have some water you gathered during the Wesak Full Moon Festival, use that water at this time as an offering to Grandmother Earth.

If possible, light a candle to represent the kindling of the spirit, the awakening of the Higher Mind and the flame of compassion lit within the open heart. You may also burn some incense or sage, to create a spiral pathway from earth to sky, sending an offering to those Beings of Light who join their energies to ours during this Full Moon Festival.

Enjoy this meditation on the day of the Full Moon, celebrating the Festival of Goodwill!

Opening Invocation: "I now see Heaven on Earth; Heaven and Earth as One; the anchoring of the Kingdom of Heaven; the spiritual principles in open expression on earth; thus leading to the universal recognition that all are one."

Visualize an egg of swirling multi-colored light surrounding you.

Breathe slowly and deeply from the belly for a count of five on each inbreath, and up to ten on each outbreath.
 

On each in-breath, visualize a golden light streaming into your aura from above, strengthening your auric field. On each out-breath, visualize light streaming forth from your third eye, ascending to the heavens, to the Christ Consciousness Grid surrounding Planet Earth. As you continue to breathe and meditate, become aware of the myriad streams of light being directed to the Christ Consciousness Grid surrounding the Earth by millions of Lightworkers, seekers and meditators worldwide. Feel the increase in the light around you, within you, and within the Christ Consciousness Grid surrounding the Earth, with each breath you take. Know that as the light increases within you and around you on every in-breath, you direct a more and more powerful stream of energy to the Christ Consciousness Grid and to all humanity with every out-breath.

When you have energized your aura and directed your light to the Christ Consciousness Grid for a few minutes, simply sit in quiet contemplation.

Continue deep breathing, and ask your Ascended Guides and Spiritual Teachers, incarnate or disincarnate, to send you messages containing the loving wisdom you will need to fulfill your spiritual and material goals during the coming year. Ask to be enlightened about golden opportunities for loving service coming your way in the months to com. Ask for loving wisdom you may need to overcome inner and outer difficulties in the year ahead.
