Jane and Curtis welcome you to this June's full moon Festival of Humanity. The Full Moon occurs at 10:19 AM EDT on Tuesday May 29th, 2018, at 8º 10' Sagittarius, and is opposed by Sun at 8º 10' Gemini, as we celebrate the Gemini Solar Festival.
The Gemini Solar Festival is the third of the three great Spring Festivals of our new global inter-denominational spiritual community. First came Easter, then Wesak, and now the celebration known as the Festival of Humanity, or the Festival of Goodwill. The Festival of Goodwill marks the moment during the yearly seasonal round when the energetic outpouring from the Spiritual Hierarchy reaches a peak.
At the moment when humanity's will forces are waxing strong, in synchronicity with the exploding growth of the plant world and the onset of birthing season on farms in the Northern Hemisphere, spiritual people everywhere use the season's heightened energy signature to support practices connecting each one of us to the whole of the Human Family, to the vast web of life surrounding us, and to the incomprehensible vastness of the Universe.
During the five day period of the Full Moon in Sagittarius, we focus our will forces and through creative visualization we join with our spiritual brothers and sisters around the world in a global meditation that surrounds the planet with love and light.
This outpouring of energy from the awakened collective consciousness of spiritual practitioners around the world in the form of goodwill towards all creates a bridge between the material world and the realms of subtle energy, a link between the individual egoistic mind and the Cosmic Higher Mind that encompasses our own Higher Mind and is home to our Ascended Guides and Teachers.
This outpouring of love and light on the part of humanity triggers a response in subtle energy realms, as the Spiritual Hierarchy transmits a vast flow of loving wisdom in response. Spiritual disciples of all paths and lineages and religions around the world receive inspiration and instructions concerning their roles and duties for the upcoming year.
May-June 2018 Cosmic Weather Forecast
This month, a total reshuffling of outer planet aspects indicates that we are entering a significantly transformed and transformative cosmic weather pattern that will coincide with new collective thoughtforms, or memes, new collective challenges for our civilization as a whole, and new ways of responding to the multiple global crises we are currently experiencing and that will define the human experience in the 21st century.
For the last decade, more or less, the emphasis has been on a series of extremely difficult outer planet aspects occurring in Cardinal signs, Capricorn, Aries, Cancer and Libra.
We are all familiar with the earth-shaking events that marked this decade. The Global Financial Meltdown and the Fukushima Nuclear Meltdown triggered an increased awareness of the fragility of our civilization's most fundamental economic, political, energy producing and environmental systems.
Over the last decade unexpected, unusual extreme weather events worldwide have become commonplace and coincided with an increasing awareness that the equilibrium sustaining Earth's biosphere in a zone conducive to human civilization has already been significantly altered by climate change on a global scale.
Political responses to the environmental, financial and environmental crises rewarded financiers, wealth holders and entrepreneurial digerati at the expense of everyone else, resulting in the present day's unprecedented global financial inequality. The 20th Century winner-take-all neoliberal paradigm of globalized Utopian laissez-faire capitalism coupled with a form of democracy that emphasizes identity politics and equality of opportunity rather than equal rights or equal outcomes for all, has been shown to produce positive outcomes for the top 10% of the world's populations, while reducing the vast majority to a precarious life characterized by a war of all against all.
Indeed the status quo has delivered a global system in which the top 1% of wealth holders have attained unprecedented wealth and power that would make the Pharaohs green with envy. Eight billionaires currently hold wealth equivalent to the entire bottom 50% of the world's population.
The failed political response to the triple crisis has resulted in a fourth crisis, a crisis of confidence undermining the stability of governments worldwide, and fueling the rise of authoritarian, extreme right wing politicians and parties across the globe. Donald Trump in the US, Vladimir Putin in Russia, Narendra Modi in India, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Turkey, Binyamin Netanyahu in Israel, Mateusz Morawiecki in Poland, Rodrigo Duterte in the Philippines, and Mohammed bin Salman in Saudi Arabia represent the new wave of post-neoliberal authoritarian leaders who see themselves as "strongmen" in the tradition of the infamous 1930s dictators who plunged the world into World War II. Perhaps not so coincidentally, Donald Trump has a personal affinity with all those mentioned above.
The last decade was a blaring wakeup call for humanity. Unfortunately the scale of our global hydrocarbon fueled civilization's mounting problems has triggered a tsunami of fear, rage, selfishness and greed. In response, the new strongman leaders promise to undo the formulas underpinning neoliberal identity politics, by offering favored religions, races, and yes, the male sex, favorable treatment, and by redirecting the rage of the dispossessed and disheartened onto scapegoats such as immigrants, women, those of other religions and people with a different skin color. These strongman leaders tend to be unconcerned by global climate change, and reject efforts to forge co-operative solutions to pressing environmental problems.
Needless to say, neither the politically bankrupt neoliberal elites, who include nominally leftwing social democratic European leaders, the Bush wing of the Republican party, and the Clintonite wing of the Democratic party in America, nor the new rightwing authoritarians have any realistic solutions to the triple political, economic and environmental crises facing the world today.
Although there are leftwing outliers, such as Bernie Sanders in America and Jeremy Corbyn in Great Britain, who want to rollback the deregulation, austerity politics, and income inequality of the neoliberal status quo, and return to the glory days of the mid-twentieth century social welfare state, they have yet to demonstrate that they can implement their reform program within the existing global financial system.
As the decade of the Grand Cardinal Cross draws to a close, we can be certain that the struggle to replace the decaying global world order with a new political and economic model will become increasingly sharp, will include new players and new weapons we cannot yet imagine, and will be waged on many fronts throughout the next decade.
The next decade will not see the explosive outer planet fireworks display that characterized the last ten years, but the times, they are definitely changing. It is the outer planets that affect entire generations and large populations, influencing collective thoughtforms that comprise the Zeitgeist of the era, the Spirit of the Times, and this month we are beginning to see outer planet movements that will certainly have a long term influence on global events, memes, culture and lifestyle.
Looking at the big picture, the years 2007-2020 are dominated by the energy of repeated squares between Aries in Uranus and Pluto in Capricorn, so although most of this confrontational energy is behind us, the culmination lies in the near future. It is true that Uranus has entered Taurus, but it will backtrack into Aries again in a few months.
Saturn moved into Cardinal Earth sign Capricorn in December 2017 and will enter a conjunction with Jupiter and Pluto, all in Capricorn, in the latter half of 2020, and then Jupiter and Saturn conjoin at 0 degrees of the Fixed Air sign Aquarius to begin a new air cycle in December 2020. At that point the energy of the infamous Uranus-Pluto squares will be history.

"Saturn’s passage through Capricorn and the beginning of the next Saturn-Pluto cycle (2018-2021), and America’s Pluto Return (2021-2023) — form a long cascade of provocative astrological symbolism that is serious and daunting," explains our friend, astrologer Bill Herbst, who has written over 100 articles on the Grand Cardinal Cross and the Uranus-Pluto squares. "The worst-case scenarios are almost too unpleasant to consider and might include America descending into civil war, with subsequent authoritarian lockdown by the government."
Astrologers associate a country's Pluto return with a complete reorganization of its political and economic structures. The first Pluto return for the Roman Empire occurred in 216-222 AD, during the reign of the Severan Dynasty, which had ruled Rome since its founding in 23 BC. Every Emperor who assumed the throne during this period was murdered, and the Dynasty collapsed not long after, in 235 AD. The Empire was divided up into a number of competing states, but eventually a new more authoritarian and centralized Empire regrouped and ruled through Rome's second Pluto return in 461-467 AD, but collapsed in revolt in 476 AD, marking the final end of the Empire.
"The best-case scenarios [for America's Pluto return] would be built around Pluto’s meanings of purging, cleansing, sweeping away old structures or outmoded practices, and rebirth into an enlarged perspective," Herbst continues. "That might include America’s awakening from our own past extremism of elevating money and wealth above all other values. It would almost certainly mean reforming our economy to better reflect reality rather than fantasy. If that were to occur, it would likely be the result of forced necessity rather than choice, but the outcome could still be positive."
Zooming in for a close look at this month's Cosmic Weather patterns, Uranus, which has been in the volatile Cardinal sign Aries since 2011, moved into the Fixed Earth sign Taurus May 15, 2018, and will move through Taurus until November 7, when its retrograde motion takes it back into Aries until March 5, 2019, when Uranus re-enters Taurus through November 7 2025.

Uranus in Taurus immediately formed a combustible square with Mars in Aquarius, on May 16, which is waning now but the effects will linger throughout the weeks to come. This square in fixed signs often signals belligerent action in response to perceived frustrations. Mars was last in Aquarius on election day 2016, when Donald Trump upended the American political system and won the Presidency. So it's not surprising that on May 24, under this influence, Trump cancelled the planned peace summit with North Korea, placing the two countries once again on course of escalating confrontation. The financial markets tanked in response, and the price of gold spiked well before noon. Taurus is a fixed sign, and Uranus in Taurus will be involved in a difficult T-square this summer that could indicate flashpoints in political, military and cultural conflicts to come.
The last time we saw Uranus in Taurus was between 1934 and 1941 and before that 1850 – 1859.
During the late 1930s the existing economic system was in constant crisis. Britain, the global hegemon, had abandoned the gold standard in 1931, leaving the global economy in a transitional state and America, the rising Anglo-Saxon power, had proven unable to recusitate its depressed economy, despite the advent of a social welfare state led by Franklin Roosevelt.
Global politics entered a pre-apocalyptic prelude to all out war. Fascism consolidated newly won power in Spain, Germany, Italy and Eastern Europe and entered into alliances with Japan and Russia. These combined forces confronted the Great Democratic Powers of Europe and America in the Second World War, and during the early years of that war, while Uranus remained in Taurus, the Fascist powers were ascendant.
During the previous Uranus in Taurus cycle (1850-1859), the ongoing Industrial Revolution accelerated radically. Innovations included the refining of gasoline, the development of the first gasoline engine, the discovery of oil in Pennsylvania, the perfection of the Otis elevator, which allowed skyscrapers to be safely built, the building of the first TransAtlantic cable, and the publication of Charles Darwin's Origin of Species.
The 1850s were also a time of blossoming environmental awareness -- and of anti-environmental backlash. This is appropriate since Taurus, Earthy sign of the Bull, is ruled by Venus, and represents sensuous connection to the elements of the Earth, a reliance upon the natural cycles of the Earth to provide the good life. Taurus is a Fixed sign and will not be sidetracked or dissuaded from its goals, and obstinate persistence characterized both sides engaged in environmental battles during this period of time.
Although the first successful gasoline engines would not be created until 1859, and although gasoline refining had only been introduced in 1850, by 1851 the US Congress enacted the Shipowner’s Limitation of Liability Act to encourage shipping -- of dangerous fuels and other dangerous products. Shippers who conveyed petroleum products or other noxious materials and suffered a mishap would find their liability limited to the value of the ship, minus the value of the spilled cargo. This law would come back to haunt America during the latter half of the Twentieth Century when apocalyptic large oil spills became fairly common.
In America in 1852 a public controversy that spanned the continent erupted over the logging of The Mother of the Forest, a 300 foot tall Sequoia in what would become Yosemite Park, for use in a carnival sideshow.
In England in 1853, the House of Commons passed a Smoke Nuisance and Abatement Bill designed to remediate the blackened air, water and architecture of London, which had become intolerable from an excess of coal burning in furnaces.
In 1854 Henry David Thoreau published his book Walden, which celebrated a Boston Brahmin transcendental Universalism in preference to the rational materialism of the Industrial Revolution, and made of nature a shrine, a sacred place to connect to the Divine.
In 1855 the city of Chicago began to build America's first large urban sewer system.
In 1857 Frederick Law Olmstead was given the design contract to build New York's Central Park.
In 1859 Edwin L. Drake struck oil in Titusville, Pennsylvania, but the early sales of petroleum products were meager because the existing market for fuels was dominated by an alcohol-turpentine blend that had long ago replaced whale oil, which had become unaffordable as a result of overharvesting of whales.
This catalog of events from the mid 1800s almost makes it seem that today's environmental culture wars are very much just a continuation of the disruption caused by the Industrial Revolution over 150 years ago.
In the early 1850's in London, a huge cholera epidemic coincided with the formation of a Board of Health, designed to help improve poor sanitary conditions, especially among the working classes and the poor. The Board was immediately disbanded and the Times of London editorialized that Britons “prefer to take our chance of cholera and the rest than be bullied into health.” In September of 1854, Dr. John Snow analyzed the cholera outbreak in London's Broad Street neighborhood incident by incident and traced the disease to a contaminated water pump. When the pump was shut down, the spread of the deadly disease was abated.
So, to summarize the energy signature of Uranus in Taurus for us today, I expect to see technological innovations combined with a growing awareness of the environmental cost of pre-existing and new components of the Industrial Revolution, especially petroleum based technologies, which were birthed during the Uranus in Taurus cycle of the mid 1800's. That growing awareness will certainly collide with the vested interests of the fossil fuel industries who have trillions of dollars of investments in the status quo and no intention of fading quietly into the twilight of history. Conflicts between the immeasurably rich and powerful fossil fuel industries and environmentalists will reach a boiling point.
Conflicts over clean water, problems in the global agricultural system, and public health emergencies will force people around the world to face the results of a hundred years of runaway growth and environmental degradation.
There will be a global conflict between the forces of reactionary right-wing extremism and the rest of us. The intensity of that war and the terms of battle, have yet to be determined.
That struggle will reach a fever pitch in the United States over the next decade, because of a confluence of powerful stellar patterns, as we outlined above. You can also expect to see fundamental structures of life challenged by unexpected lightning like transformations and breakdowns and an increase in extreme environmental disasters and weather events, which will serve to clarify our thinking about the environmental challenges we face, and to stiffen our resolve to seek immediate, large-scale, co-operative solutions to our many problems.
In the financial arena, we are entering a time of continued turbulence, and a variety of interests from traditional bankers to crypto-anarchists, government central banks, and other new factions, will continue to struggle for dominance.
The US role as keeper of the global financial system, and custodian of the global currency will face unprecedented challenges on many fronts. Taurus is always associated with wealth and money, and Uranus will shake, rattle and roll our financial preconceptions, challenging us to define what wealth, money and economic relations between people could and should be if we are to create a green, prosperous, democratic, equitable economy and a financial system that works for the people, instead of a system that tyrannizes the people who support it.
In short we will be challenged to rethink every aspect of our lives over the Uranus in Taurus decade, to reconnect in a heart felt way with Mother Earth and the entire web of life, to begin to live lives that conform to humanity's innate heart-centered knowledge that we live in a sacred natural space. Changes in our political, financial and social systems will reflect these changes in our lives and in our hearts.
Now that people have been confronted with the enormity of the task before us, we are being offered a chance to join with all those of goodwill worldwide to begin to create workable alternatives to the failed and failing financial and political institutions that have proven unable to address these multiple global crises effectively, and to imagine and implement new social and institutional arrangements that will prove more responsive to the needs of humanity in the 21st Century.
This Full Moon Festival of Humanity is the ideal time to connect with our Guides and Teachers, and with people of goodwill around the world. Fortunately for us, the Cosmic Weather patterns this week are extremely supportive of meditation and spiritual practices of all kinds, so we will enjoy enhanced access to inner spiritual guidance, which can provide us with insights, intuitions and flashes of inspiration that will empower us to become the change we want to see in the world.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius will be sextile Mars in Aquarius providing strong energy for competition and for co-operation in pursuit of idealistic visions held in common by like-minded groups of people. Join together with friends, family, fellow spiritual seekers, and others with whom you have a special affinity and you will be amazed. Sparks will fly as your collective energy generates a feedback loop that will elevate your energy into the higher chakras, open your heart to the goodwill shared by all, and generate the will forces required to step outside your comfort zone in pursuit of your loftiest personal and collective material and spiritual goals.
On May 24 and May 25, the stars create a soothing, emotionally uplifting Grand Water Trine between Jupiter in Scorpio, Neptune in Pisces and Venus in Cancer.
The energy of this Grand Water Trine can manifest as a desire for comfort and good feelings, to the exclusion of other considerations. Some will head to a bar, or overindulge in consumption of food, drugs, or escapist entertainment to generate temporary feelings of well being, while others will take advantage of this energy to open their hearts and expand their consciousness through practices designed to create a conscious connection with the Unity of existence, the web of life, and the transcendent Source of energy that is the ground of Being in this Universe.

This Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 10:19 AM EDT, we celebrate the full moon in Sagittarius, occurring each spring at the time of the Gemini Solar Festival. This full moon is known as the Festival of Humanity, or the Festival of Goodwill, because that is the day that the incarnate and discarnate Guides and Teachers of all the Mystery Schools of the East and West join together to light the flame of inner wisdom in the minds of all humanity. That flame is known as Buddha Mind to the Initiates of the East and Higher Mind to Initiates of the Western Mystery Schools. The full moon in June is the day the Spiritual Hierarchy light the flame of unconditional love in the heart of humanity.
This is the third of the three great spring festivals of the Universal Interfaith Spirituality of the New Age. The first festival of Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The second festival celebrates the birth of the Buddha, his enlightenment and death, and is called Wesak. Wesak was celebrated during last month’s full moon. The Festival of Humanity is the third.
During the Festival of Humanity, the love of Christ and the wisdom of the Buddha are showered down upon the Earth. At this time, spiritual disciples of all paths and lineages and religions around the world receive inspiration and instructions concerning their roles and duties for the upcoming year.
The Hierarchy of Spiritual Guides and Teachers overseeing humanity’s spiritual evolution join with the Cosmic Christ and provide a roadmap of the coming seasonal cycle to all disciples, planting the seeds for all the spiritual activities that disciples are being urged to undertake during the next year.
Most importantly, the Hierarchy and the Cosmic Christ engulf the entire planet with a powerful high-frequency energetic charge known as The Will to Good, which is distributed through powerspots around the world to all willing recipients. Simply sit alone, or join with other like-minded individuals and visualize the planet Earth surrounded by a grid of light.
The Christ Consciousness Grid, actually a set of seven grids in rainbow colors that surrounds the Earth, is in the form of a pentagonal dodecahedron with icosahedral caps (picture at right).
The dodecahedron is one of The Five Platonic Solids. There are only five three dimensional polyhedrons whose faces are identical regular polygons. They are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron and dodecahedron.
Plato associated the cube with the element of Earth, the tetrahedron with the element of fire, the octahedron with the element of air, and the icosahedron with the element of water.
"There still remained a fifth construction, which the god used for embroidering the constellations on the whole heaven," wrote Plato. That Fifth Element, Spirit, or Universal Life Force energy, is represented by the dodecahedron.
21st Century students of sacred geometry associate the dodecahedron with the energy of the stars, and with the energy of the Zero Point Field, which fills the so-called vacuum of space, within which the stars are embedded.
Astrophysicists, following up the work of 20th Century quantum physicists researching the roots of inertia, found that the void of deep space is in fact a limitless self-sustaining source of Zero Point Energy. Zero Point Energy appeared to some astrophysicists to be the most ubiquitous energy in the Universe.
This discovery was instrumental in reframing our understanding of the Universe. Astrophysicists began to question if matter is the fundamental building block of our Universe, as Newtonian physics had proclaimed. Instead Zero Point Energy, which is coterminous with the vast field of the Void in deep space, appears to be the true origin of all matter in the Cosmos.
In the 1930s, quantum physicists described the Void as a state of minimum energy where minute fluctuations of Zero Point Energy lead to constant formation of particle-antiparticle pairs.
Far from being dead and death-dealing, the “vacuum” of space was discovered to generate a low level of background energy and simultaneously to precipitate the energy particles that are the most basic, subatomic building blocks of matter.
